JUST FOR KIDS

On Saturday, kids ages 5-12 should pick up the Art Scavenger Hunt form at the Open House entrances. Kids can complete the Hunt and return the form on their way out to be entered into a drawing for gift certificates from Prizm Art Stores.

Come meet Sarah Urist Green, creator and curator of The Art Assignment video series, as she explains “How to Read Art.” Sarah’s presentation will take place at 4 pm in the Car Room.

ARTISTS DEMONSTRATIONS

2:30 pm, B350, DEBBIE BREDEMUS — Debbie will demonstrate painting with epoxy resin and how to create colorful abstract pieces with tinted resin and heat.

3:00 pm, A340, BETH SCHWIER — Beth will be doing a still life palette knife demonstration in oil paints on canvas.

3:00 pm, B320, ANDREA JACKSON — Andrea will be demonstrating the soldering of an Etruscan chain and a final piece of jewelry.

3:30 pm, A245, SUSAN HAZER — Come see how it is possible to start with a flat sheet of metal and end up with a leaf-like art piece! Susan will demonstrate how to work metal by folding and hammering to create lovely, organic shapes.

4:00 pm, A250, LYDIA BURRIS — Lydia is providing a demonstration of how she uses mixed media, automatism and abstraction to begin her imaginative fantasy paintings.

4:00 pm, B320, ANDREA JACKSON — Andrea will be demonstrating the soldering of an Etruscan chain and a final piece of jewelry.

Residency2015Springman4:30 pm, B255a, JESSICA SPRINGMAN — Jessica will be demonstrating her geometric paper-cutting technique. Visitors will see how she lays out foundational line art and cuts the image with an X-acto knife fitted with a standard #11 blade.

4:30 pm, A455, JIM GERARD — Jim will demonstrate short gesture drawing from the live model, in charcoal and pastel.

5:00 pm, C340, LINETTE BLEDSOE — Linette will demonstrate her plaster painting process, which will show how she “paints” first with plaster to get thick texture in her work and then, once dry, how painting and glazing brings the work to life.

5:00 pm, B320, ANDREA JACKSON — Andrea will be demonstrating the soldering of an Etruscan chain and a final piece of jewelry.

5:30 pm, C 310, JANETTMARIE — JanettMarie will paint with a big, 6-inch brush on a small, 12-inch canvas to produce an exciting still life painting; size does matter!

5:30 pm, A455, JIM GERARD — Jim will demonstrate short gesture drawing from the live model, in charcoal and pastel.

Ritch demo 46:00 pm, C380, RITCH HANNA — Ritch will demonstrate fusing and scraping with encaustic, or hot wax – one of the oldest forms of painting.

6:30 pm, A455, JIM GERARD — Jim will demonstrate short gesture drawing from the live model, in charcoal and pastel.
