"Can We Talk? Memories, Miracles, and the Power of Things Unsaid"
Exhibition and Events in the Raymond James Stutz Art Gallery
March 25 - April 15, 2016
OPENING RECEPTION: MARCH 25
Join us for a special art exhibit in partnership with the Before I Die Festival for "Can We Talk? Memories, Miracles, and the Power of Things Unsaid."
Opening reception is Friday, March 25, 5-9 pm. In this exhibit, artists have produced art about living in the NOW--focusing on the realization that anyone can be gone in a split second. Artwork includes healing art for those of us who may live with the regret of 'things unsaid' and for works that help create opportunities for those of us who still have a chance at honest conversation. The Joan Rivers trademark question, 'Can we Talk?' gives us the levity to begin serious talk about important communication on tough subjects.
Friday, March 25, 5-9 p.m.
Raymond James Stutz Art Gallery in the Stutz Business and Arts Center
212 W. 10th St.
Poets and writers from the Indiana Writers Center will join us:
5:30 Chris Speckman
6:30 Andrea Boucher
7:30 Kyle Craig
8:30 Claire McGuinness
The Before I Die Festival is a part of a growing social movement to reflect on how we manage death and dying, by providing space and opportunities to talk and discuss end-of-life issues as individuals and as a society. The Stutz Artists Association is joining the conversation through artists' interpretration of death and dying.
This event is part of the Before I Die Festival, presented by the IU School of Nursing and powered by Spirit & Place. The Before I Die Festival is a series of community-created events for the living about the dying, taking place April 15-17.
The exhibit runs through April 15 during Gallery hours: Monday-Friday, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
