"Energy" Gallery Exhibition

Divine Imprint by Lydia Burris
Divine Imprint by Lydia Burris - acrylic and pastel on paper, 20"x30"

Five Stutz artists present their own unique visual interpretation of energy, from a more literal standpoint, to abstract, spiritual, and fantastic representations of this magnificent concept.

Energy is a normally invisible force felt flowing around us. A force that becomes solid and visible, conjured by vivid imaginations, or captured in remnants that imply 'energy was here.' The artists hope to make a connection with viewers by touching on the theme we all have within us, namely "Energy," the life force that drives us.

An opening reception for the exhibit is set for 5 pm to 9 pm, Friday, June 5, in conjunction with the Indianapolis Downtown Artists & Dealers Association's (IDADA) monthly First Friday gallery tour. The show continues through June 26, and the gallery is open from 11 am to 2 pm, Monday through Friday, or by appointment.

Participating Stutz artist Terri McClatchie has this to say about the exhibition:

Each piece of art I have selected to be in this exhibit has been created with intention and passion in every stroke of my fingertips, brush and trowel. Together with my personal energy and intention, I use the energy of Reiki, essential oils, tinctures, crystals, metals and minerals to infuse the art with love, light and “healing energy” which radiates into the space where it resides. My many sleepless nights spent painting in the quiet of the Stutz Building would tell the tale that spirit guides and muses come out and play in the paint beside me. If you look close, you can find their energetic signature somewhere in each piece as well.

Other Stutz Artists participating in “Energy” include Von BiggsLydia BurrisKevin Raber, and Ritch Hanna.  Each has created new works following their unique traditions-- representing the Spark that motivates them.
