The Stutz 2012 Holiday "Market" - Friday, December 7, 5-10 p.m.

Skip the mall. Bypass the big-box store. Ditch the web. To pick up those truly special and locally made gifts, shoppers can kick off the holiday shopping season at the Stutz Arts Association's "Market." One night only, December 7, 5-10 pm, you can browse and purchase work by approximately 50 artists in a variety of media. The annual event gives visitors the opportunity to view original art, mingle, enjoy light refreshments and listen to music – all in a single location at the historic Stutz building.

Attendees to the event held each year can get a creative start on holiday shopping, with gift possibilities ranging from paintings, metal sculpture and wearable art to jewelry, cards and custom portraits. During the popular event, artists with studios in the Stutz building will display their work in a single space.

One of the largest associations of working artists in Indiana, the Stutz Arts Association exists to encourage its member artists and to promote their work. The association operates the Raymond James Stutz Art Gallery, a nonprofit gallery on the first floor of the Stutz. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, or by appointment.
