Until the Covid-19 pandemic and building construction, the Stutz Artists Association maintained a Residency Program.
The residency was created in 1996 to provide studio space and mentoring for emerging artists as a bridge opportunity for a career in the visual arts. The Stutz Artists Residency program is exclusively funded by artists for artists. This is one of the largest awards for visual artists in central Indiana. There are now over 30 alumni resident artists, and many continue to live, work and impact the arts in central Indiana.
The annual Stutz Artist’s Association Spring Open House raises funds to support this important program that includes a lease for dedicated studio space for eleven months in a clean, safe, and friendly working environment along with mentoring. The Open House serves as a key event for the Resident to show and sell the work they produce during their tenure.
